I'm Picturing It! Again!

I'm picturing it, again! The post below was written and posted February 2010. Today, 2 years later, 28th January, 2012 I still have the same desires. I refuse to give up on these God-given desires and so that's why I am here again. I have enrolled in another photography class, am working on my editing skills in Photoshop Elements and doing my best to practice as often as possible. So.....here I go again :)

"For many years I have had an interest in photography. I remember when I was the only one in my family who had a camera and was always willing to capture those special moments. As the years went on I bought camera after camera still taking photos. When I had my first child, my daughter, I took so many pictures of her. From the time she was born I had my camera going. Her every step of development was photographed. Then along came my son and along with him came some trying times. I look back and saw that it was around that time my interest in photography dwindled as I grappled with more important issues.

However as life settled down, I took my camera up again and found that the desire was still there. I have decided to pursue that love on a more serious level and have signed up for some photography classes.

I've created this blog to help document my progress as I try to improve on the little bit I already know. My plan is to take as many photos as often as possible and work on producing quality images.

I love photography and I love writing poetry. I'm picturing incorporating my own photographic images with my own poetic words.

Oh the possibilities as I feed this God-given desire.

Where is spring?

Took this shot from at the window early this morning. A dusting of snow on the leaves below.......where is Spring that we were promised? Thank God it was just a dusting and not 14 inches like in ND or some other place.Anyway want to take this opportunity to get back into my photography. I've been working on learning some new stuff and probably took this with about four or five different settings.

We spent some time at the Boston Arboretum last weekend. Was a really nice day and we found this little guy soon as we went in. A chipmunk I think, yeah?

I took this close up from a plant that I am not familiar with. It was filled with these 'flowers' and so i thought I would do a close up of just one. I have to purpose to find out the names of the plants and flowers around since I love their beauty so much.

My husband and I took a lovely walk on Saturday evening when the weather was so nice and came across this church. We walked out of our town into an area in the town next door that we had never seen before so it was a surprise to see this church. I used just the night setting on the camera and got this.

Photo taken yesterday Tuesday 16th using the 'snow' settings on my camera along with a few adjustments to the exposure etc. We had a whopper of a snow storm but it was truly beautiful to look at and so I thought I would play with the camera and try a few things.
